Help shape our future by becoming a Trustee

We are looking for a new Trustee who will help shape the Charities’ future as part of the team whilst furthering the objects of the Charity. The objects of the Charity are the provision and maintenance of a site for the School and the advancement of education of pupils in the principles of the Church of England (including social and physical training) through the provision of items, services, facilities and special benefits of any kind not required to be provided by the Local Authority for the benefit of the School and its pupils. The relief of poverty among the inhabitants of the area of benefit, including by the provision of Social Housing in the form of Almshouse Accommodation or other housing accommodation. To further the religious and other charitable purposes of the Church of England in the parish by maintaining and repairing the fabric and contents of the Parish Church of Berkswell. Such other charitable purposes for the benefit of the inhabitants of the area of benefit as the trustees think fit.

A range of skills is desired, and it would be beneficial, though not a determining factor, if you have financial skills and knowledge of audit and risk management.

What specialisms/behaviours and competencies are required?

Our Trustees will play a key role in supporting one another and the Charity employees and we are looking for:

• Methodical thinkers who can analyse information, make links, and make evidence-based decisions.
• People who share our values of caring for our residents, maintaining the financial future, sharing (education of the school’s children and community collaboration)
• People who get things done with vigour and efficiency.
• A person characterised by action.
• Trustees who will exercise collective judgement and consider the Charities’ long-term goals and consider how best to support the organisation in achieving these goals.
• People who have a history of personal effectiveness, helping and advising an organisation from their own areas of knowledge.

The Trustees have a genuine desire to recruit from the community they serve and to implement far greater diversity in the makeup of the Board. The meeting space we use provides easy access for those with mobility problems and current practices can be catered around those with care commitments.
