Could You Make a Difference in Your Local Community?
Berkswell Charities is Looking for New Trustees
Berkswell Charities is seeking enthusiastic and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees and help shape the future of our charity.
For over 600 years, Berkswell Charities has supported the local community through a range of charitable activities. Our objects include supporting education through Berkswell Church of England Primary School, relieving poverty and providing housing accommodation, maintaining and preserving St John Baptist Church, and supporting other charitable purposes that benefit residents of Berkswell and the surrounding area. As a Trustee, you will help ensure these long-standing charitable purposes continue to make a positive difference for future generations.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with experience or expertise in:
💷 Finance / Accountancy or
👥 Human Resources
You do not need previous experience as a charity trustee. What matters most is your willingness to contribute your skills, ideas and time to support the work of Berkswell Charities.
We would particularly welcome applications from people who live in Berkswell, have strong connections to the parish and surrounding area, or have an interest in supporting the local community.
What Does a Trustee Do?
Our Trustees work together to provide effective governance, strategic direction and oversight of the charity. As a Trustee, you will have the opportunity to use your professional knowledge and experience to make a meaningful difference to local people and help ensure Berkswell Charities continues to support the community for many years to come.
We Are Looking for People Who Are:
✔ Community-minded and committed to the charity's aims
✔ Able to work collaboratively as part of a Board
✔ Willing to contribute their time, knowledge and expertise
✔ Interested in helping shape the future of a valued local charity
Time Commitment
We aim to make the Trustee role both meaningful and manageable.
The Board currently meets monthly in the evening. As our new governance structure develops, we expect meetings to move to every two months and ultimately to quarterly meetings over the next 6 to 12 months, depending on the needs of the charity.
Trustees are also asked to serve on one of the charity's three newly established sub-committees. These currently meet monthly but are expected to move to bi-monthly and potentially quarterly meetings as they become established.
There may also be occasional involvement between meetings, depending on your area of expertise and the needs of the charity.
Interested?
If you have the skills, experience and enthusiasm to contribute, we would love to hear from you.
