Christmas in Berkswell parish is a warm and traditional celebration rooted in village community life and focused around the village centre and the historic church of St John Baptist. Throughout December, the parish gathers for familiar festive events.
On 5th December residents from the Almshouses enjoyed Christmas lunch at Haigs Hotel in Balsall Common. The food was excellent and there was plenty of chatter and laughter at what is becoming a much-loved annual event.

Throughout December the Nook has served delicious festive cakes and pastries and mulled wine. Their Wreath Making workshop was a sell out at the end of November and beginning of December.

On 11th December Berkswell Church of England Primary School hosted a Christmas lunch for older people in the community. Traditional roast turkey was served by pupils from year 6 and the visitors were entertained by the pupils singing to them.
On 18th December the community came together to sing carols on the green around the Christmas tree and enjoyed Christmas treats and mulled wine from The Nook.

On 21st December St John Baptist Church has a service of readings, carols and anthems by the choir and on 24th December there are two Christingle Services, which is a joyful celebration that brings families and communities together to share the light of Jesus and spread a message of hope. All proceeds will be going to The Children's Society. The church has a beautiful 9-foot Christmas tree and at night the star on the church tower can be seen across the village.

In Berkswell, the season is less about bustle and more about shared moments — a village coming together to celebrate tradition, kindness, and the spirit of the holidays.
