Grant Requests from Organisations  - more than £2,000

Criteria for Grants Above £2000

1. Who can apply?

Applications welcomed from not for profit organisations in the parish of Berkswell or the surrounding “Area of Benefit’ seeking grants for equipment or capital works to their premises.
It is only in rare circumstances that the Trustees will make grant of in excess of £10,000.

2. What can be funded?

The Trustees will consider applications for assistance from not for profit organisations seeking grants for equipment or capital works to their premises.

The Trustees will wish to see a well-considered proposal and to understand how it is to be delivered in terms of:

Appointing contractors;
Obtaining timely and good advice;
Budgetary information about how the project will be funded;
Proof of land ownership or tenure;
General competence of the Board and/or their employees;
How the project will benefit the local community and how that impact will be measured

3. What items cannot be funded?

Grants to individuals or for educational assistance will not be funded under this application. Please look at the section Grants for Educational Assistance or Grant Requests for Individuals.

5. How to apply?

Applications should be submitted online using the form below.

6. Information required.

The Trustees wish to be assured that you are a bona fide not for profit
organisation operating in the Area of Benefit and will require documentary
evidence including:

1. Evidence of your regulatory body for example, the Charity Commission including where applicable, your Charity Commission Number
2. A copy of your constitution
3. Copies of your last three years’ accounts
4. Evidence of tenure: freehold or leasehold
5. Detailed information in respect to the project to be funded supported by drawings, planning consents, evidence of due diligence being undertaken in respect to contractors
6. Information about the make-up of the Board, their paid employees, and volunteers
7. A copy of your reserves policy
8. Details of any debts
9. Evidence of fixed assets

7. Application consideration

The Trustees will endeavour to consider all applications at the meeting after the application is received but as they only meet every 6 to 8 weeks applicants should find out from the clerk when the next meeting will be held as applications will not be considered between meetings unless circumstances are exceptional.
